A Prayer Request

Hey guys! There is a sweet 3-year old girl at my church who really needs your prayers. I have known her since she was born, but am ashamed to admit that I have not known completely what has been going on in her life. She has a disease which causes overall muscle weakness, decreased balance and developmental delays. I have just been made aware of this page, saw it on my friend Angie's blog. I am asking that you all please pray for Claire and her therapy and development, along with praying that the money will be raised for this mobility aid that has been very helpful to her in therapy. I just feel so terrible that I have become so disconnected from people at church (a very small one I might add, so everyone knows everyone!) that I have not known all that is going on with sweet little Claire. Her mother was my choir teacher when I was a senior in high school, I have known her a long time! Every Sunday that I see Claire, I always find myself wondering if there is anyway Jim and I can help her. Well, now I found a way!

Thank you Lord, for showing me this page! And thank you for all of the wonderful people out there that will say a prayer for little Claire!

Thank you all so very much for taking the time to read this!

VGNO & a Giveaway!

Photobucket
It's that time again! Time for Virtual Girls Night Out, hosted by the wonderful Ann at Ann Again... and Again. It is a night full of pj wearing, blog hopping, new friend meeting, blog buddy chatting, game playing fun!

Since Ann's post is all about roses, here is a pic of one of my roses.

Ok, now for the giveaway! Angie [well, she said I am helping, but she did all the work! ;-) ] is having a great giveaway over at her blog. It is a really cute lamp she made out of a chicken feeder. Check it out:

Quote from Angie's post:
I made this light with my own two hands- inspired by the recent purchase of the baby chicks and the farm I am living on..... It has a switch, so it can stay plugged in. It doesnt get hot if you leave it on too long...and its FREE!!

Now git on over to Angie's and leave her some love and maybe YOU will win this cute lamp!

Happy VGNO everyone, have a great night and weekend!

Thankful Thursday

I am Thankful for:

Oh yeah, we FINALLY got our F-250! It is a 2001 with some miles on it, but it was kept almost immaculate! No rust underneath at all! AND we got a great deal on it so we could not pass it up. But now I am afraid to drive it around because we don't want people to think we have money, because we really don't lol! But it is nice to feel kinda special, see what being thrifty can get ya? ;-) We could have gone out and bought a brand new truck (it WOULD help stimulate the economy I suppose...eh) and a huge loan to pay on forEVER, but we chose to go used and we will run this thing into the GROUND (which will hopefully be in a LONG time!). Jim's current truck is just getting worn out (its a 1999, high miles) and we wanted something with a crew cab so we could fit the kid(s) more comfortably. Plus it had to have 4-wheel drive and a towing package for the horse trailer =).  This will be Jim's truck, so now we just have to find me a cheap F-150 and sell my car (little bitty Toyota Corolla, good on gas, but I hate driving something so small! Plus I always have to rely on Jim and his truck if I need something BIG). Why don't I just drive Jim's F-150 you might ask? Well, 1 - because I am a loser and can't drive a stick, and don't really want to (I know, I should SUCK IT UP!) and 2 - because I would like to find one with a crew cab, again for Jimmy and any future kiddos. Plus, Jim said his truck is SENSITIVE and he doesn't want me to have to deal with it. Awwww!  How sweet....or something... lol. So anyway....I am super duper Thankful that we found a wonderful deal on this lovely, grrr-owl, F-250. I can't wait to drive it, oh yeah!

Do you have something to be Thankful for? Let everyone know about it! Just enter your name or name of your blog and add the link to your specific Thankful Thursday post (not your blog's homepage please!) Also, please add the Thankful Thursday logo or link to my blog in your post. Have fun and thanks for joining me!

Stump Planters

I have been looking for some big planters to put at the end of our barn on either side of the big door, where the barn driveway is. I mentioned this to my dear friend Angie and she said she had the perfect thing! Two hollow pieces of a tree they had cut up. She said I could have them, so my hubby stopped by and picked them up. The next day I lost no time filling them up with dirt and getting the flowers planted. Like my hanging planter, once the flowers get bigger they will look great!
