Ok, I have to tell you that I just jumped up and pulled my shirt off because I SWEAR I felt something crawling on my back! EEEESH! But nothing there. I HAVE woken up in the middle of the night with one crawling on me, a couple times actually. So yes, I am a bit paranoid! So thus starts the ticks season here at the Blessed Country Farm, so far the count is 6 ticks.
Do you have any tick stories? Do you even notice them or just go on your merry way? How do those of you with horses deal with them or do you even worry about it?

Nola had FIVE on her that had fallen off from either filling up or b/c they ingested her flea Rx and they were ALIVE -IN- my house! It was so gross. This was after a long hiking trip on Good Friday. I started finding them on Tuesday morning...one was on my shirt when I woke up... then two more on the bed from later that day. Another two on the floor...oh yes, and one on her neck. My spine shivers to even remember this awful event!!!! GROSS!!!
Sorry you have had them too. Going to be a tough season.... bleh!
Ugh, I HATE ticks! When I was younger we would go out to a friends house that was in the woods. Loved going to the house, HATED the ticks! They make me shiver just thinking about them on me!
ali, use revolution on oreo... it is anti flea and tick and deworms all but hook. only at the vets. my cats nor do my dogs get ticks. (i have found only advantage plus works for dogs) i might find one crawling but never embedded. yes, i too get the buggy feeling during the summer and have found one on my pillow. i use white sheets and blankets purposely so i can see them. i always where a hat and then when i come in, the good husband and i are like monkeys checking eachothers scalps. i also lean over and brush my hair upside down to see if any have dropped on the cream colored floor. it is gross and dangerous. so far i haven't seen any.... usually i see ours in may. we keep the grass short which helps too.
Oh, my...Really? I have never seen a tick in real life. YUCKY! I'll pass thanks.
We are very lucky, we don't get ticks, I think if you go way up in the woods you will find them there. I have seen a friends dog with one, but they had gone hiking in the woods.
yuck!! I haven't had to deal with them so much here, my husband keeps telling us they are around here, I think in Eastern Washington more.. maybe they don't like the rain on the Western side of the state?
I am sorry you have to be on tick patrol!
Jan :)
PS.. again.. thanks for my awards.. they really mean a lot to me!
