I am thankful that I finally finished this:
And I am so very thankful for the sweet little boy who loves his new rocking chair, he would NOT get out of it for me to take a picture. Guess I should have taken the picture BEFORE I set it out...ah well ;-)
As for the chair, it is from Michael's, it was unfinished and I used Minwax English Chestnut stain on it, then decided it wasn't quite right and added 2 coats of the Polyshades finish in Bombay Mahogany. Now I LOVE the color and want to find more things to stain...uh oh ;-)...

Beautiful chair and baby boy!
he is getting so big!
So cute! I think I might have to go pick up one of those for the kids ;0) I'll let you stain it for me, hehe.
Looks great! My girls spent hours in their rocking chair. Infact, I made Pony Girl take it home a couple years ago.
That is the cutest rocking chair ever! I wonder if I could try something like that!
glad you finished it! looks really professional! thanks for telling us the steps you took...the rocking chair we bought from cracker barrel has black stuff all over it...wondering if i could just spray paint over that, it doesn't come off...
What an adorable chair! It looks like he loves it!
It looks so good! I love the color, and I think Jimmy loves it! He is so darn cute!!
Thanks everyone! He just rocks and rocks in that thing, too funny!
Sure Katie!
Dusty Devoe, that's my plan too! ;-)
blueviolet, you could totally do it, the most frustrating part is the nooks and crannies so make sure you have a little bitty brush for those.
Kritter Keeper, I am not sure, but check out this post by Thrifty Decor Chick http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com/2009/03/you-know-what-spring-means.html She spray paints everything! And she even did the same rocking chair I did. Her stuff always turns out beautiful. I bet if you sanded it a bit first it would work. Good luck!
